XP Integrity — Engineering Head

Architecture, solutioning and technical guidance in AI trust and safety.

• Drove the tooling and automation for identifying inauthentic accounts across multiple social media platforms.
• Developed a bespoke AI evaluation framework tailored to the regulatory, ethical and performance demands of specific industries.

Search Quality — Tech Lead

• Launched AI Overviews for Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi.
• Delivered baseline evals, aspirational query sets and adversarial query sets for AI Overviews in India — built to represent the mixed-language and voice patterns of Indian search, letting the whole AIO team hill-climb on headroom with guardrails.
• Rater losses were a serious problem in India. Systematically analysed rater patterns and worked with eval teams to improve eval templates and build higher-quality rater pools.
• Proposed new projects and wrote the project plans for AI Overviews; drove 7+ live experiments on new experiences and language features.

Search India — Tech Lead

• Tech lead for all vertical-feature work for India, leading ~20 engineers with cross-functional collaboration across PM, PGM, UXD, UXR and DS&E.
• Drove the definition of the Language and Verticals strategy, its workstreams and OKRs, coordinating 10+ teams to close vertical gaps in Search India across English and Indic languages.
• Delivered the Exams Practice feature and a Search one-box to showcase it; ran 20+ experiments on new Search experiences.

Cloud Search — Tech Lead & Manager

• Owned the Cloud Search product: 350+ customers, 400+ search applications, $55M in bookings. Set product strategy and provided technical leadership.
• Rebooted a team that had dropped from 25+ engineers to 6, and grew it back to 12+. The team shipped features that paved the way for $300M+ in Google Cloud deals.
• Managed tier-1 on-call — a five-minute response target — across Workspace Search.

Cloud Search — Tech Lead

• Tech lead for search quality. Wrote the ranking function for third-party content and for unified search mixing first- and third-party results. In customer evaluations, third-party search quality outperformed the native ranking major competitors offered on their own content.
• Designed the configurable search index; contributed to the Search API and backend infrastructure.
• Cloud Search's landing and impact earned Google a place among the challengers in Gartner's 2019 Magic Quadrant for Insight Engines.

AI, Google Research — Software Engineer

• Sole engineer in Bangalore working with a US-based natural language team in Google Research — automated ads callouts, generated answers to questions, trip planning — building the tools, backend pipelines and infrastructure behind them.

Google Docs — Tech Lead

• Launched the Research tool in Google Docs and Slides, leading backend infrastructure and quality. It featured an entity card similar to Google's knowledge panel, built independently.

Google Scribe — Software Engineer

• Built a machine-assisted content creation tool as a 20% project and launched it on Google Labs. The project founded the Google Docs team in Bangalore, and its content-creation tools — autocomplete, automatic linking, research, proofreading — shaped the Docs roadmap for years.

Google Translator Toolkit — Software Engineer

• Owned the WYSIWYG editor UI and features including chat integration, customisable translation panes, a resizable toolkit, undo/redo, alignment of units and publish-to-Docs.
• Co-designed the content storage backend; served on-call for production issues and release engineering.

Technical Analyst

• Versata University trainee; built a visual configurator for the FordDirect website.
